Tigo Nicaragua, which has offered a full suite of B2B services since acquiring Amnet in 2008, has entered the residential broadband market. According to posts on the operator’s official Facebook page, the new service went live in early October. Tigo’s HFC cable broadband network is seemingly restricted to selected parts of capital city Managua, including Ciudad El Doral and Valle de Sandino. The network supports maximum downlink transmission speeds of up to 100Mbps, with a standalone broadband package priced at USD135.99 per month.
