A1 Telekom Austria Group has reported total revenues of EUR1.12 billion (USD1.3 billion) for the third quarter of 2018, a rise of 1.4% from EUR1.11 billion in the year-ago period, driven by higher fixed and mobile service revenues, as well as increased equipment revenues. Group EBITDA decreased 4.9% from EUR410.0 million in Q3 2017 to EUR389.8 billion twelve months later, but excluding restructuring charges increased slightly by 0.3%. A1 Telekom Austria Group said that the reported net result dropped by 21.2% year-on-year to EUR116.7 million, impacted by depreciation and amortisation related to the group-wide rollout of the A1 brand.
At 30 September 2018 A1 Telekom Austria Group reported a total of 21.09 million wireless subscribers, an increase of 1.3% year-on-year, mainly driven by M2M connections and growth in Croatia, Belarus and Serbia, while mobile subscriber numbers declined in Bulgaria, Slovenia, Macedonia and Austria. The number of post-paid subscribers increased by 4.9% in Q3 2018, reflecting the growth in M2M connections and ongoing high demand for mobile Wi-Fi routers, as well as the continuous shift from pre-paid to post-paid offers. Total wireline RGUs rose by 2.8% y-o-y to reach 6.18 million at the end of Q3 2018.
