Telekom Slovenije confirms T-2 court settlement

24 Sep 2018

Slovenian fixed and mobile operator Telekom Slovenije has confirmed that it has reached a settlement with smaller rival T-2 to put an end to a lengthy legal battle between the two. While Telekom has not disclosed the amount to be paid, local press reports earlier this month put the figure at around EUR50 million (USD58 million).

T-2 lodged a EUR130 million legal claim in 2007 after competition authorities ruled that Telekom had failed to provide competitors with adequate access to its infrastructure. While T-2 failed to win the initial case and a further appeal, in 2016 the country’s Supreme Court decided that earlier court hearings had not applied the relevant EU laws and it subsequently found in T-2’s favour.
