Telenor Myanmar 4G coverage reaches 75%

20 Sep 2018

Telenor Myanmar is accelerating the pace of its 4G LTE network rollout after surpassing its previous target of covering 250 townships. The Norwegian-owned cellco announced that it has expanded its LTE network coverage to 255 townships, or around 75% of the population, and is now aiming to serve 300 townships by the end of the year. Chief Marketing Officer Amaresh Kumar commented on the deployment, saying: ‘Telenor’s speedy 4G network rollout has ensured that our previously-set target of covering 250 townships with high-quality data in 2018 was successfully reached three months ahead of the date. We want more Myanmar people to enjoy the powerful internet, so we have decided to fast track our network expansion plan to cover more townships this year.’
