Geocell launches LTE-A, tests HD Voice

Georgian mobile operator Geocell has revealed that it is modernising its network to improve 4G service quality and coverage. The firm added that it switched on an LTE-A network in the city of Batumi, enabling maximum downloads speeds of 430Mbps for customers with a compatible device. In addition, Geocell recently began testing HD Voice technology on the 3G network across the entire country to significantly improve the voice quality of calls. Geocell has been wholly owned by Georgian fixed line operator SilkNet since March 2018.
