Vivo FTTH footprint reaches 100 cities

Telefonica Brasil (Vivo) has confirmed that its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) footprint has reached 100 cities, following the service’s launch in Ijui, in the northeast of Brazil, and Sertaozinho, in the interior of Sao Paulo. The telco notes that it is on target to deploy 20 new fibre networks in 2018, compared to 16 in 2017.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, Vivo reported 7.490 million fixed broadband subscribers at 30 June 2018, of which 4.792 million were fibre customers.
