Lebanon’s Cablevision deploying IP-based services

Lebanese pay-TV provider Cablevision has announced the imminent launch of an IP-based TV/entertainment/content service in Beirut in partnership with Meatel, Alpha Networks, Amino, Broadpeak and Viaccess. Cablevision said it will bundle its new ‘IP-to-home content delivery service’ with ‘a broadband offering’, delivering over 150 channels alongside on-demand and OTT content, adding that it plans to expand the service to other major cities nationwide in due course. Bassam Jaber, Chairman of Cablevision, said: ‘We see IP-based delivery as the way forward for future content delivery and believe we have in place the right ecosystem … to drive our future strategy.’
