Ooredoo Oman reaches 95% 4G population coverage

14 Sep 2018

Ooredoo Oman has reached the milestone of 95% coverage of the Sultanate’s population with its ‘SuperNet’ 4G LTE mobile network (up from 92% claimed in April), saying that it has ‘surpassed its initial goal of 4G upgrades’ following expansion work in areas including Muscat, Al Batinah, Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhikyah, Buraimi, Wusta, Musandam, Dhofar and Dhahirah. As reported by Zawya, Ooredoo’s Taha Al Raisi stated: ‘This expansion … has increased our 4G coverage by over 50% countrywide since we started our major upgrade implementation in quarter four, 2017.’ Ooredoo also noted that it was recently named the fastest mobile network in Oman by online benchmarking site Ookla.
