SFR Caraibe stages a 5G trial in Guadeloupe

SFR Caraibe has achieved a peak downlink of 1.4Gbps in a trial of 5G technology in the French overseas territory of Guadeloupe, in partnership with equipment vendor Huawei. The operator utilised 64×64 MIMO technology for the trial, which took place in Jarry. Frederic Hayot, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at SFR Caraibe, said: ‘With this 5G test, SFR Caraibe is taking a major step in preparing its network for future commercial deployments of this technology and confirming its position as a leader in innovation. With 5G, our customers will benefit from ultra-broadband that will transform their fixed and mobile experience.’
