MegaFon the final Russian operator to cancel all intra-network roaming charges

4 Sep 2018

Russian cellco MegaFon confirmed on its website that it removed the last remaining on-net ‘domestic roaming’ charges from its tariffs on 1 September 2018. The move means that all four of the country’s major mobile operators have now ceased all forms of additional charging for their own network users travelling between Russian regions, complying with Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) directives. The last elements of on-net roaming fees to be cancelled were additional costs for receiving incoming domestic calls. Beeline was first to remove the incoming call charges on 20 August 2018, followed by Tele2 on 27 August and MTS on 30 August.
