French conglomerate Bouygues Group has reported revenues of EUR15.743 billion (USD18.4 billion) for the six months ended 30 June 2018, up 4% year-on-year from EUR15.108 billion in the year-ago period. Bouygues generated a net profit attributable to the group (excluding exceptional items) of EUR260 million in 1H18, an EUR40 million improvement from a net profit of EUR220 million twelve months earlier. The group reported that its telecoms arm Bouygues Telecom ‘continued its good commercial performance’ and recorded a ‘sharp improvement in its financials’ with a 6.3% y-o-y rise in revenue, from EUR2.406 billion in 1H17 to EUR2.563 billion in the corresponding period of 2018, while EBITDA grew by EUR59 million in the period under review to EUR549 million, and CAPEX stood at EUR461 million (up by EUR56 million y-o-y). The telecoms operator reported a net profit of EUR141 million in 1H18, up from a net profit of EUR108 million in the year-ago period.
In operational terms, Bouygues Telecom reported a total of 15.29 million mobile subscribers at 30 June 2018, up from 14.84 million in Q2 2017. The operator claimed to have 391,000 fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) subscribers by the end of June 2018, with 3.53 million broadband subscribers overall.
