Nar further expands LTE network

Azerfon (Nar), Azerbaijan’s third-largest mobile operator by subscribers, has announced that it expanded its 4G LTE network to 35 regions of the country during the first seven months of 2018. The firm has continued to roll out base stations across Azerbaijan, notably in Khachmaz, Guba, Gusar, Lankaran, Gabala, Shaki, Shabran, Salyan, Shirvan, Shamkir and Mingachevir. Nar claims that the ‘majority’ of its subscribers can now access the LTE network, which provides download speeds of up to 225Mbps.

Nar currently has over two million mobile subscribers and covers 93% of the country’s territory, while to date 7,000 base stations have been installed by the company.
