Swedish ISP Com Hem has announced that it has launched a new 1.2Gbps broadband service in selected locations. As per the operator’s press release, the service will initially be rolled out to 600,000 households in Stockholm, Boras, Falun, Gothenburg, Gavle, Jonkoping, Linkoping, Malmo and Uppsala, with new locations set to be added ‘on a regular basis’. Com Hem notes that the network overhaul involves the upgrade of its existing HFC networks to the DOCSIS 3.1 standard.
