15 Aug 2018

Indian state-backed telco Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has booked widening net losses for the three months ended 30 June 2018 as it struggles to compete with its privately-owned rivals through a prolonged price war. The telco, which offers services in the Delhi and Mumbai circles, registered turnover of INR4.92 billion (USD70.3 million) for the quarter, down from INR6.57 billion in the year-ago period, the Economic Times reports. Net losses, meanwhile, widened from INR7.03 billion to INR9.43 billion year-on-year.
