Telekom enables 100Mbps broadband for 226,400 more homes

14 Aug 2018

Telekom Deutschland, the domestic fixed and mobile operating unit of Deutsche Telekom (DT), has enabled VDSL vectoring for a further 226,400 households, allowing it to offer customers in the upgraded areas maximum download speeds of 100Mbps. The latest network expansion covers 151 municipalities, including Haltern am See (12,000 homes), Werdau (11,200) and Aachen (10,900). The speed increases were made possible through the operator’s IP conversion and the rollout of vectoring technology, which has also enabled upload speeds of 40Mbps. The next wave of commissioning is scheduled for 17 September.
