Copel Telecom taps Coriant for upgrade

Regional Brazilian operator Copel Telecom has deployed 200G optical transmission technology from Coriant to upgrade its fibre-optic backbone network in the state of Parana. Built upon the Coriant hiT 7300 multi-haul transport platform, the new solution will enable the telco to meet the growing bandwidth demands of its end-users, while enhancing its low latency performance. Copel Telecom notes that its networks currently offer residential broadband in 81 cities as well as delivering carrier-class corporate services in all 399 municipalities in Parana.
