Rostelecom Q2 revenues up 3%, broadband users rise 2%

Russian nationwide fixed network operator Rostelecom’s revenues grew by 3% year-on-year to RUB77.4 billion (USD1.2 billion) in the second quarter of 2018, with three-month EBITDA up 1% to RUB23.7 billion. Net profit increased by 9% to RUB3.1 billion in 2Q18 while quarterly CAPEX was increased by 16% to RUB14.4 billion.

Rostelecom’s fixed broadband internet subscribers grew by 2% y-o-y to 13.0 million in Q2, and its pay-TV subscribers rose by 5% to 10.0 million, including IPTV customers which climbed 11% to 5.1 million. Rostelecom’s mobile subscribers – via its MVNO operating on the Tele2 Russia network – passed the one million mark during the quarter (more than doubling year-on-year), whilst the telco’s local telephony subscribers decreased by 8% to 18.3 million.
