US telecoms giant Verizon Communications has reported total operating revenues of USD32.2 billion for the three months ended 30 June 2018, up 5.4% on an annualised basis. Meanwhile, second quarter operating income was reported at USD6.6 billion, down from USD8.0 billion in 2Q17. Finally, net income for 2Q18 was reported at USD4.2 billion, down from the USD4.5 billion generated in the year-ago period.
Chairman and CEO Lowell McAdam commented: ‘Verizon is extremely well-positioned for the future. Our financial and operating results for the first half of 2018 were strong, as evidenced by service revenue, earnings and operating cash flow growth delivered in a highly competitive marketplace.’
