Turk Telekom’s Q2 revenues jump 10%

Consolidated second-quarter 2018 revenues at Turk Telekom reached TRY5.0 billion (USD1.0 billion), 10% higher year-on-year, whilst group EBITDA improved by 15% to TRY2.0 billion with an EBITDA margin of 40%. Growth in Q2 operating profit was also strong at 13% y-o-y and fixed/mobile CAPEX was increased to TRY836 million in April-June 2018 compared to TRY544 million in the same quarter of 2017. The Turkish group reported a 2Q18 net loss of TRY889 million, however, due to unfavourable currency exchange movements; excluding foreign exchange impacts it reported a positive net income of TRY676 million.

Fixed broadband subscribers (retail and wholesale) increased by 13% y-o-y to 10.3 million at 30 June 2018 (with 248,000 net additions in three months), including fibre subscribers which rose 190,000 during the quarter to 3.2 million. 293,000 mobile net additions in April-June drove the cellular subscriber base to 20.2 million at end-June, with an underlying three-month 369,000 post-paid customer net gain boosting the percentage of post-paid users to 57% (up by one percentage point from the previous quarter).

Turkey, Turk Telekom
