UAE-based Etisalat Group has reported revenues of AED13.10 billion (USD3.57 billion) for the second quarter of 2018, a year-on-year increase of 2%. The group, which has operations in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, saw EBITDA remain stable at AED6.60 billion, while net profit climbed 12% to AED2.20 billion. CAPEX for the quarter was down 6% y-o-y at AED2.11 billion. 60% of turnover was generated in Etisalat’s domestic market, with a further 25% coming from Maroc Telecom (MT), which is active in Morocco and a number of other African markets.
At the end of June 2018 Etisalat had 10.9 million mobile customers and 1.1 million fixed broadband users in the UAE, while in Egypt it had 31.6 million mobile subscribers, down from 33.9 million a year earlier. Its operations in Pakistan counted 23.1 million customers, up from 21.5 million in Q2 2017, and MT had 60.3 million subscribers across its ten markets of operation.
