20 Jul 2018

Sweden-based Telia Company has published its Q2 2018 financial report, in which it highlights an increase in net sales of 5.2% to SEK20.81 billion (USD2.33 billion) from SEK19.78 billion in the year-ago quarter. The group’s EBITDA also saw growth in the three months ended 30 June 2018, standing at SEK6.43 billion, up 6.9% on the year-ago figure of SEK6.03 billion. The group noted that mobile service revenues continued to rise, mainly driven by ARPU growth in all Telia markets. In terms of adjusted operating income, Telia recorded a 0.9% decline in Q2 2018 to SEK3.60 billion, compared with SEK3.63 billion one year previously.

In operational terms Telia’s total subscriber base fell from 23.4 million at the end of the second quarter of 2017 to 23.0 million at 30 June 2018, due in part to the company’s ongoing divestment programme in its Eurasia markets.
