Telekom Austria Group has reported total revenues of EUR1.10 billion (USD1.3 billion) for the second quarter of 2018, an increase of 1.3% from EUR1.08 billion in the year-ago period, mainly driven by higher equipment revenues and strong retail fixed line performance. Group EBITDA fell 0.9% from EUR359.7 million in Q2 2017 to EUR356.4 billion twelve months later and Telekom Austria Group said that the reported net result dropped by 48.4% year-on-year to EUR58 million, impacted by depreciation and amortisation related to the group-wide rollout of the A1 brand. Excluding the accounting effect of this extraordinary brand amortisation, the net result rose by 15.9% in Q2 2018.
At 30 June 2018 Telekom Austria Group reported a total of 20.74 million wireless subscribers, an increase of 0.3% year-on-year, mainly driven by M2M connections and growth in Serbia, Croatia and Belarus, while mobile subscriber numbers declined in Bulgaria, Slovenia, Macedonia and Austria. Total wireline RGUs rose by 2.1% y-o-y to 6.18 million at mid-2018.
