Telenor set for major expansion of 4G coverage

Telenor Myanmar has unveiled plans to expand the coverage of its LTE network to a further 250 townships by the end of the year. A number of areas in Ayayarwaddy, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan and Chin are among the first to gain access to the cellco’s 4G service this month. Telenor’s LTE network, which was launched in June 2017, is currently available in more than 180 towns and cities across all regions and states in Myanmar.

‘As part of our commitment to provide the best customer experience throughout Myanmar, we have rolled out our 4G network across all states and regions in order to offer the superior data experience to the customers,’ commented Amaresh Kumar, CMO of Telenor Myanmar, adding: ‘We are looking forward to expand our 4G network in more cities and townships in several regions and states during the coming months and more of our customers will be able to enjoy our most affordable and fastest data network very soon.’
