Movistar Venezuela, the country’s second largest cellco by subscribers, has extended the reach of its LTE network to three further cities – Valencia, Barquisimeto and Maracaibo, with its 4G network now surpassing one million subscribers, writes ACN. The three new cities added to the 4G network join the existing live LTE locations of Caracas, La Guiara, Puerto la Cruz, Porlamar, El Tigre and Cumana. The extension of Movistar’s 4G network has seen the company double its population coverage from 17.6% to 33.2%, as Movistar aims to become the leading mobile operator in Venezuela ahead of first placed Movilnet, which currently covers 46.9% of the population with its LTE services.
