Spanish alternative telecoms operator Aire Networks has confirmed that Magnum Capital, an investment firm focused on Spain and Portugal, has acquired an unspecified stake in its business. Going forward, the new shareholder is expected to help fund the telco’s expansion plans.

TeleGeography notes that Elche-based Aire Networks functions as a carrier of carriers, and offers services over its 27,000km network. The company, which has operated an MVNO called Ion Mobile since 2013, is also in possession of 2600MHz spectrum, which it hopes to use to launch LTE-A technology.
