CityFibre takeover receives EC clearance

13 Jun 2018

The European Commission (EC) has cleared a GBP538 million (USD720 million) takeover bid for UK pure fibre provider CityFibre Infrastructure by Antin Infrastructure Partners and Goldman Sachs-managed West Street Global Infrastructure Partners, according to StockMarketWire.com. The deal remains subject to court sanction, expected to be held within two weeks.

In April this year CityFibre agreed the private equity buyout deal which it said will support its plan to build fibre networks ‘serving 20% of the UK market under private ownership’. In an ongoing partnership with Vodafone UK, CityFibre is deploying extensive wholesale full fibre infrastructure in selected cities.
