Belarusian cellco life:) unveils USD4 unlimited mobile internet tariff in three regions

13 Jun 2018

Mobile network operator (MNO) Belarusian Telecommunications Network (BeST life:)) has introduced a new promotion for customers in the regions of Brest, Vitebsk and Grodno, offering an unlimited mobile internet plan for just BYN7.9 (USD4) per month. The cellco, owned by Turkish telecoms company Turkcell (80%) and the government of the Republic of Belarus (20%), says that subscribers who connect to a tariff plan by 31 July 2018 will be able to access the ‘Bezlimit GB’ regional offer under the promotion. Although it is offering an ‘unlimited’ plan, in reality Bezlimit GB is capped to 100GB as once the user hits the cap, life:) will throttle their maximum speed to 512kbps, it says. Nevertheless, the offer throws down the gauntlet in the burgeoning mobile internet market where the cellco competes with MTS Belarus and VELCOM.

The cities covered by the new plan are: Brest, Grodno, Vitebsk, Baranovichi, Orsha, Novopolotsk, Polotsk, Lida, Kobrin, Pinsk, Braslav, Luninets, Volkovysk, Ivatsevichi, Shchuchin, Verhnedvinsk, Ushachi, Miory, Glubokoe, Shumilino, Chashniki, Zhabinka , Malorita, Ivanovo, Bereza, Pruzhany, Lyakhovichi and Senno.
