Telecom Italia, which operates in Italy and Brazil under the TIM brand, has reported revenues of EUR4.74 billion (USD5.60 billion) for the first three months of 2018, an increase of 2.7% year-on-year on an organic basis, but down 1.6% in absolute terms. Domestic revenues rose 1.7% to EUR3.71 billion, while the TIM Brasil business saw a 12.2% drop in sales, to EUR1.04 billion. EBITDA climbed 1.8% to EUR1.99 billion, net of non-recurring items, while net profit for the first quarter attributable to shareholders totalled EUR216 million, compared to EUR200 million Q1 2017.
TIM had 31.04 million mobile subscribers in Italy at the end of March 2018, up from 29.42 million a year earlier, while its fixed broadband user total climbed from 9.32 million to 10.34 million over the same period. TIM Brasil had 57.89 million mobile customers as of Q1 2018, down 6.4% y-o-y.
