Huawei probed for Iran links

Chinese equipment vendor Huawei is being investigated in the US for alleged violation of sanctions in Iran. The Wall Street Journal reports that the firm has been under investigation since at least 2016 for allegedly shipping US-origin products into Iran and other countries – in contravention of US economic sanctions. US authorities have subpoenaed Huawei seeking information concerning the claims. Fellow Chinese equipment manufacturer ZTE was recently banned from sourcing parts and software from US firms for seven years.
