TalkTalk expands availability of its G.fast-based plans to all customers

25 Apr 2018

British broadband provider TalkTalk has announced a widespread launch of ‘ultrafast’ broadband connectivity, opening access to tariff plans which offer downlink speeds of up to 300Mbps to all would-be customers. The faster rates are being offered via G.fast technology, which is being rolled out by BT’s infrastructure unit Openreach, and initially such tariffs will be available in ‘select locations’ across the country. Previously, TalkTalk had only offered access via G.fast to its existing customers, but now its ‘Faster 150 Fibre’ and ‘Faster 300 Fibre’ plans can be taken up by anyone, offering downlink rates of 150Mbps for GBP40 per month and 300Mbps for GBP50 per month, respectively. Looking ahead, TalkTalk has said it plans to expand its G.fast-based offerings ‘to new areas as the Openreach network grows across the UK’.
