Ooredoo expands 4G to 92% of Omanis, launches FNP for businesses

Ooredoo Oman has announced that its LTE network now reaches 92% of the population, following the rollout of services to over 1,100 locations since last year. Ooredoo’s most recent expansion includes the Musandam Governorate, while other 4G locations include Muscat, Al Batinah, Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhikyah, Buraimi, Wusta, Musandam, Dhofar and Dhahirah. The company, which is majority-owned by Qatar’s Ooredoo Group, plans to increase coverage to 95% of Omanis by the end of June.

In a separate announcement, Ooredoo has revealed it has launched fixed number portability (FNP) for business customers, enabling companies to retain their numbers if they switch operator.
