The Gabonese minister of communication and digital economy, Alain-Claude Bilie-By-Nze, has stated this week that the country will invest XAF150 billion (USD280 million) over a three-year period to expand its fibre-optic network, reports Reuters. The first stage of the project has been completed, with capital Libreville already linked to Franceville, with KT Corporation (formerly Korea Telecom) chosen to undertake the second half of the fibre expansion project, connecting the north of Gabon with the high-speed broadband network.
