Movistar Peru lines up USD432m investment for 2018

Spanish-backed full-service provider Movistar Peru has announced plans to invest PEN1.4 billion (USD432 million) this year to improve its fixed and mobile infrastructure. El Comercio quotes CEO Pedro Cortez as saying: ‘Our contribution lies in promoting the digital revolution that positively impacts the lives of people, SMEs, businesses and large companies. We bet on connectivity, integration and digitalisation.’ Movistar is planning to expand the coverage of its fixed broadband and LTE networks, with the latter set to add four antennas a day. In addition, Movistar has lined up several new products and applications to be launched this year, including live TV and music apps Movistar Play and Movistar Music and customer reward programme Movistar Prix.
