A1 Telekom Austria Group says it has around EUR1 billion (USD1.2 billion) to spend on acquisitions across its existing footprint, as well as in new eastern European markets. Reuters cites Chief Executive Alejandro Plater as saying that one priority ‘is to go to new countries, that’s a tactical move… We will keep on looking east,’ adding that the company could spend up to EUR1 billion on acquisitions without raising additional equity. Plater revealed that A1 Telekom Austria Group, which is a subsidiary of Mexican firm America Movil, also planned to consolidate in Croatia, Belarus and Macedonia.
