Hutch cleared for 4G in Sri Lanka; 2H18 launch planned

Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka (Hutch) has announced that it has received all necessary approvals from the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) and Board of Investment (BOI) to deploy a nationwide 4G network in Sri Lanka. A statement on the cellco’s website notes that Hutch’s Hong Kong-based parent company has promised ‘massive new investment’ to support the LTE launch, which is expected to take place in 2H18.
