Orange Belgium confirms interest in VOO takeover

5 Apr 2018

Orange Belgium has confirmed local news reports that it is interested in acquiring mobile and fixed broadband operator VOO, writes Broadband TV News. VOO was formed in April 2006 and is a partnership between Brussels-based cableco BruTele and Wallonia utility firm Nethys (formerly Tecteo). Orange Belgium has reportedly advocated an ‘industrial partnership’ with Nethys and BruTele, with such a merger potentially leading to the creation of a national convergent telecoms operator. VOO offers triple-play services in parts of Brussels and Wallonia on the networks owned by its parents and is the equivalent of Telenet, which operates in Flanders and other parts of Brussels.
