LTT launches LTE fixed broadband service

9 Mar 2018

Libya Telecom & Technology (LTT), the country’s largest ISP by subscribers, has announced the launch of a 4G LTE fixed broadband network. The state-owned company is offering three separate LTE fixed broadband packages, priced at LYD35 (USD26) per month for 10GB, LYD60 for 20GB and LYD75 per month for 30GB. Current LTT customers already using the LibyaMAX WiMAX broadband service can transfer any existing credit and upgrade to the new 4G service for a discounted rate as the company aims to migrate its subscriber base to its new technology. In the first phase of the rollout, the new technology will be available in Tripoli, Benghazi, Misurata, Al-Bayda, Shehat, Al-Zawia and Sabha. LTT said that further cities will be added in subsequent phases in order to cover the majority of the country.
