Ooredoo Oman, the country’s second largest mobile network operator (MNO) by subscribers, has announced that it has already fulfilled its promise of covering 90% of the population with its LTE network by the end of Q1 2018. Ooredoo confirmed that it has extended its 4G network to more than 900 new locations across the Sultanate, with significant expansions made in the last month in Muscat (60 sites added), Batinah and Ad Dakhliyah (40 sites) and 25 new sites in the regions of Dhofar and Dhahirah.

Director of Consumer Sales at Ooredoo, Feras bin Abdallah Al Sheikh, said: ‘Part of achieving our goal to accelerate our expansion of high-speed data was to improve our mobile network and give users the best possible experience, to enjoy 4G internet in many new places. Customers now have the advantage of superior, uninterrupted connectivity, especially for advanced tasks such as video chat and streaming, to provide a digital first user experience.’
