Tele2 Russia’s 4G reaches 55 regions

Tele2 Russia has expanded its commercial 4G LTE mobile network to three additional regions, namely Saratov, the Republic of Buryatia and the Republic of Mari El, making the cellco’s LTE services available to a total of 55 Russian regions, reports TelecomDaily. In the newly covered regions, Tele2’s 4G already reaches 80% of the population in Saratov and 56% in the Republic of Buryatia, whilst in the Republic of Mari El, initial services reach several cities, district centres and a handful of small settlements. The new LTE network sections all operate in the 1800MHz band using Ericsson equipment.
