Greece’s OTE Group has recorded a 1.9% fall in adjusted EBITDA for the fourth quarter of 2017 to EUR337 million (USD414 million), while sales dropped 2.8% to EUR998.1 million. Higher revenues from domestic fixed and mobile operations were offset by a decline at the group’s Romanian fixed line business and lower international transit traffic for its OTE Globe subsidiary. The firm reported an adjusted net income of EUR37.1 million for the quarter. In full-year 2017 sales dropped 1.3% to EUR3.86 billion, while adjusted EBITDA fell by the same margin, to EUR1.30 billion.
Domestic unit Cosmote registered 7.98 million mobile subscribers at the end of 2017, up from 7.72 million a year earlier, while retail broadband connections climbed 7.6% to 1.76 million. The mobile user base at Telekom Romania fell 11.1% year-on-year to 4.75 million, though Telekom Albania saw a 5.5% rise in cellular customers, to 1.94 million.
