22 Feb 2018

IPLAN, the Buenos Aires-based data centre/cloud computing firm, which launched a fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network in selected areas of capital city Buenos Aires in late 2016 has confirmed that its fibre networks now pass 110,000 homes. Going forward, the emergent player expects its FTTH infrastructure to pass more than 300,000 homes by end-2018. In an interview with iProfesional.com, general manager Damian Maldini noted that the network remains concentrated in the Recoleta, Palermo and Belgrano areas of Buenos Aires. Looking ahead, 2019 is expected to see the telco expand to Cordoba and Rosario, as well as introducing an IPTV service.
