JSE-listed technology group Altron has secured a ZAR585 million (USD50.2 million) deal to roll out broadband in the Limpopo province, TechCentral writes. The local government, through state-owned Limpopo Connexion, has appointed Altron’s Altech Radio Holdings (ARH) to establish an open-access broadband network across the province in line with the South Africa Connect national broadband strategy. Under Phase One of the project, ARH will provide connectivity to government departments, municipalities, businesses and households over a three-year period. ARH has already won similar tenders in Johannesburg and Pretoria.
