Sweden-based Tele2 has announced net sales of SEK25.02 billion (USD3.18 billion) for full-year 2017, an 18% increase on the year-ago figure of SEK21.19 billion. EBITDA also grew by the same percentage margin, reaching SEK6.41 billion in the twelve months ended 31 December 2017, up from SEK5.41 billion in full-year 2016. This increase has been helped by the merger of Tele2 Netherlands and Deutsche Telekom’s Dutch unit T-Mobile NL, with Tele2 receiving a cash payment of EUR190 million (USD224 million) as part of the deal. Net profit also surged in full-year 2017, totalling SEK2.67 billion, a 67% increase on SEK1.60 billion recorded for 2016. In terms of net sales, Sweden and Kazakhstan performed strongly with growth of 20% and 21% respectively. In operational terms the group reported 15.347 million customers at 31 December 2017, an increase of 2.2% from the year-ago group subscriber total of 15.011 million.
