Australia’s Vocus Group has announced that a restructuring under which it is splitting its existing Enterprise & Wholesale segment into two operating segments. As a result of the corporate reworking the company will comprise four reportable operating segments, namely: Enterprise & Government, Wholesale & International, Consumer, and New Zealand. In a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange, Vocus claimed that the new divisional operating structure was being implemented as part of the company’s accelerated transformation programme and is ‘intended to allow sufficient senior executive focus on the opportunities within these segments’.
Commenting on the matter, Vocus Group CEO Geoff Horth stated: ‘The acquisition of Nextgen has opened new markets and presented significant growth opportunities to the group across all business segments and channels. The opportunities available in Vocus’ domestic wholesale business, combined with our investment in the Australia Singapore Cable, warrants the creation of a dedicated Wholesale and International division and will ensure that we have the focus, products and service proposition to be the provider of choice to customers in this important market.’
