Ooredoo Oman, the Sultanate’s second largest mobile network operator (MNO) by subscribers, has announced that it added 750 new 4G locations to its network in 2017. The company plans to increase the total to 1,000 by Q1 2018, thereby lifting LTE coverage to 90% of the population. Some of the network upgrades carried out last year included 70 sites in Al Batinah, 50 sites in Al Sharqiyah and 30 in capital city Muscat, with the remainder distributed between every governorate of Oman.
