KT Rwanda Networks (KTRN), the firm tasked with deploying 4G LTE infrastructure across Rwanda, says it has completed its network rollout on schedule, having reached 95% population coverage. The 4G system is used by the country’s three cellular operators – MTN, Tigo and Airtel – to provide connectivity to end users. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, KTRN is owned by KT Corp of South Korea and the government of Rwanda. It inaugurated its LTE network in November 2014, reaching 17% coverage by the end of the following year and 55% by end-2016.
