Indonesian mobile network operator (MNO) Hutchison Three Indonesia (Tri) has selected Nokia Cloud Packet Core solution to help meet rapid data growth in the domestic market. The cellco says the move will allow it to provide ‘a highly scalable platform to deliver sophisticated mobile broadband and move towards next generation innovative services’. The MNO has commissioned Nokia to develop and deploy a mobile packet core based on a cloud-based architecture as part of the cellco’s ongoing ‘digital transformation’ which it hopes will ultimately deliver the best customer experience and preparation for delivering future services. Further, the vendor notes that in supplying its so-called ‘AirGile’ portfolio, it will be able to help Tri lower costs and accelerate launch time to market for innovative new services. The Nokia Cloud Packet Core platform is designed to support multi-technology access across licensed, shared or unlicensed wireless spectrums, and fixed network technology.
