Armenian minister tips Nokia to help build countrywide 5G network

Arka News quotes Armenian minister of transport, communications and information technology, Vahan Martirosyan, has suggested that Nokia should be the company selected to participate in a project designed to ensure the country can roll out a nationwide 5G network. In a meeting with a delegation from the Finnish communications, IT and consumer electronics company in Yerevan recently, Martirosyan was quoted as saying that he hopes that ‘Nokia will be represented in Armenia not only in the telecommunications field, but also in the digital infrastructure’. The minister went on to say that in addition to commercial representation in Armenia, Nokia could create a research and development laboratory, taking into account ‘the availability of highly qualified specialists and favourable conditions’ in the country.
