Spanish full service telco Grupo MASMOVIL has announced that its addressable fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) footprint has now passed ten million household mark. The infrastructure comprises a combination of independent fibre covering 1.6 million households, alongside 8.5 million homes passed by Orange Espana, with whom MASMOVIL has a network sharing pact. The new cities in which MASMOVIL will be able to commercialise its fibre services have been named as: Alicante, Asturias, Badajoz, Barcelona, Cordoba, A Coruna, Guipuzcoa, Madrid, Malaga, Navarra, Pontevedra, Sevilla, Valencia, Valladolid, Vizcaya and Zaragoza. Earlier this year the company told TeleGeography that it would seek to grow its operational footprint via a ‘smart combination of owned and third party infrastructure’. The group currently offers services via four main brands: Yoigo, MASMOVIL Telecom, Pepephone and Llamaya.
