Polish telecoms and media group Cyfrowy Polsat is readying a launch of 4G LTE networks in the 900MHz band, Telko.in reports. The group, whose interests include Polkomtel, Aero2 and Sferia, will add the 900MHz band to its existing LTE services, which use 800MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz and 2600MHz spectrum. The 900MHz band has previously been utilised by Cyfrowy Polsat’s units to provide 2G and 3G services. Meanwhile, 2100MHz frequencies – currently used for 3G networks – will be refarmed to provide additional 4G capacity in urban areas.
